Map Navigation:
To move the map: left click on the map, hold and drag (all maps)
To zoom: click + or - icons or numbers at the bottom of the map (options vary depending on the map)
Linking to Maps:
Click "Link" icon at the bottom of the map to generate a new map with full URL address.
Copy the URL address for your perusal.
Text can be adjusted to your requirements. Just put your own after &tx= parameter.

Searching:
"Location Search" has two options, first one allows you to display location on the current map, second one returns results on either Google Map or Microsoft's Virtual Earth.
Detailed address search results on Virtual Earth have lesser positional accuracy than Google Map option
